Introducing the SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS | Sports, a powerful ultra-telephoto zoom and the first ever Sports line lens for mirrorless systems. This portable and practical optic revolutionizes the way mirrorless users capture wildlife, motorsport and other fast-action subjects.

The 150–600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS | Sports is SIGMA Sports line’s first ultra-telephoto zoom lens, designed from the ground up specifically for full-frame mirrorless cameras. It offers outstanding levels of performance, functionality, and build quality required for ultra-telephoto shooting in the most demanding situations.

Image quality is exceptional, with ultra-high-performance glass capable of delivering ultra-sharp results even on the highest resolution cameras. The lens displays beautiful bokeh throughout its zoom range, and optical aberrations are kept well under control. It can be used with SIGMA’s 1.4× and 2× L-Mount teleconverters, with AF effective up to 1200mm.

FEATURES

Outstanding build quality optimized for ultra-telephoto photography

The 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS | Sports combines the build quality that upholds the SIGMA Sports line standards with excellent operability, taking into account different shooting environments and modes of operation expected with an ultra-telephoto lens.

A dust and splash resistant structure that stops water drops or dust from getting into the lens, combined with a water and oil repellent coating applied to the front element, gives you a peace of mind even in a harsh shooting environment.

1

AFL Buttons

Various functions can be assigned to three AFL buttons on the camera side depending on the model of camera used.

2

Zoom Torque switch

The newly developed switch lets you change the zoom ring torque (resistance) and lock it at the wide end
L (Lock): The zoom ring fixed at the wide end.
T (Tight): The zoom ring torque set on the higher side and kept at a focal length. This prevents the lens from extending or retracting due to its own weight when pointed either upward or downward.
S (Smooth): The zoom ring torque set to low allows the lens to zoom in and out smoothly, suitable for straight zoom.

Focus Limiter Switch

5

OS Switch

The OS switch toggles between two OS settings: Mode 1 for general photography and Mode 2 for motor sports and other applications requiring panning.

6

Custom Mode Switch

Default setting: for Sony E-Mount
Switch the OS effect.
OFF: Standard
The OS effect is well-balanced and suitable for a wide variety of scenes.
C1: Dynamic View Mode
This mode offers a recognizable OS effect to the image in the viewfinder. This helps to ensure the composition of images quickly.
C2: Moderate View Mode
This mode is quickly able to ascertain the difference between fine composition adjustment and unwanted camera shake. It provides a natural and smooth viewfinder image even when composition is changed rapidly.
For L-Mount (with USB DOCK UD-11)
The OS effect and a focus limiter setting can be assigned to either C1 or C2.

IMPRESSIONS

How I tell stories via motorsport photography.

Photographer: Jürgen Tapp

This lens was great for the job. It is compact, robust and very good to handle. Most importantly it has a very fast autofocus and is extremely sharp. I had cars coming up to me at Nürburgring Nordschleife with a speed of 260km/h and this lens got it perfectly sharp. The Dual Action Zoom is a feature that helps a lot by being quick to operate when the cars fly towards me. It’s fantastic!

Exploring the heartbeat of our planet.

Photographer: Michael Ginzburg

I took the SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS | Sports out for a month in the arctic. It took quite a beating as the weather was not particularly great. When working from fast tender boats or snowmobiles, my gear has to withstand sea spray, snow, and sub-zero temperatures, as well as take the one or two knocks in the heat of the moment. In the field, I want to focus 100% on the subject and not spend my time taking care of the equipment against the elements – it is a working tool and not a Fabergé egg, after all. Even if there are some water splashes , by a quick wipe with a lens cleaner, the lens has to be good to go again.
